Default 1980 Suzuki Ts125 carburetor intake hose?

I'm doing up a 1980 TS 125 and when i tried to install the carburetor, the hose leading from the air box to the carby wont go over the lip on the carb. It seems to be fairly old and stiff. What would be the best way to make the hose budge/ soften, without replacing the hose as i don't have access to any bike shops where i live.Link to bike specs - http://www.bikez.com/motorcycles/suzuki_...Parts diagram - http://www.alpha-sports.com/Parts/SM80.h...

Heat the hose up with a hair drier. That will make the rubber soft and flexible.
