1983 suzuki tempter gr650 motorcycle problems?

when i start it, gas gets into the rocker arm compartment of the engine and then dumps into the air intake system. any ideas of the problem and how to fix it

check the petcock on the tank. they are famous for leaking after you shut the bike down. or dumping gas even while running.
