Default Indian Govt. policy regarding assembling motorcycles in India?

I wish to start Assembling and selling motorcycle in India by imported spares.What is the procedure?Does it require any licensing or approval or certification from any govt. department?

Frist of all, are you American or Indian? Reason I ask is beacuse I am looking into similar business in China and SE Asia. Some countries don't allow americans to own a business unless you have a certain % of workers from that country, (about 40 -50%) or they wont allow you to work in a business, but you can oversee the day to day operations. It really depends on the country.Maybe we can do something together? good luck
