Default should i buy a yamaha R1?

i have been riding atvs since i was 6 dirtbikes since i was 9 and racing mx and flat track and TT on atvs since i was 13, i have had a katana and a few project cruiser's but i am seriously looking to buy a R1. i have a lot of time on my cousins little R6 and i have ridden his R1 many times as well. i know that i am capible to ride it i was wondering if it would be a good idea to buy a R1 to ride to work"25-30 miles one way"and on the weekends. what breaks often, anything wear out to quick? i just want to know if there are any ghosts in this bikes closet before i sign on the line... my cousins have had no trouble but they are for plesure only and are not ridden every day like this one will be. any help would be greatly appreciated!

Yamaha has always had reliability as their main priority, now their improvements since 2006 have made the R1 very rideable.Your experience and capabilities make the R1 the natural upgrade for you.Good riding. ------
