Lots of factors in the insurance business when it comes to the price. Shop around and determine if its worth getting "full coverage" on your motorcycle. You can get just liability which is the cheapest. If you're riding a sports bike it will cost quite a bit for just liability. A smaller end cruiser would be best for a new rider both for insurance cost and for learning.
