Default I am having 1997 KX250 Clutch issues, help?

I have a 1997 KX250, when i would put the bike into first and pull the clutch lever it will not let me move the bike. So i replaced the clutch with a new clutch kit. that didn't fix it so I got a new clutch cable because mine is going bad.STILL HAS SAME PROBLEM. does any one have any ideas???when clutch is held the bike will move back and forward about 3 inches and makes a compression sound. I have adjusted the clutch cable from all the way in to all the way out. I think the chain is okayhow do you adjust clutch down there?
