At the moment they are actually being imported as Kawasaki ZX250R's. The equivilant of the CBR 250 etc!If you live in AUS don't go and buy one. All these little 4 cyl 4-stroke machines are so powerless they aren't any good and they have crappy suspension that you wouldn't get any decent riding out of!If you are getting your licence in AUS and are looking for a decent machine, go for the Motard type of bike as the law has changed in Aus for capacity. You are allowed up to 600cc for a single cyl four stroke on your Learners and Provisionals. The advantages of this are adjustable suspension which is critical when learning how to ride. That is one of the first things you want to do is set the suspension up properly to your weight. The other advantage is the power! End of story! You will get up to speed ten times quicker than those little 4-strokes and that will help you get into trouble and out of trouble. The Motards are also good for Trackdays and will help you to learn how to ride no end!If you are worried about top end speed, put a smaller sprocket on the rear and that will give you more speed, but you wont be needing that immediately. One last thing, they will have a better resale than the little 4-strokes.Good luck and have fun!Troy.

I live in Perth Western Australia. Here the Ninja 250 is known as a ZX2. They have the air lines coming over the tank that look like vacuum cleaner hoses.Quite nimble for a 250cc.
