Default is this possible, and if so how do i do it?

motorcycle exhaust questioni have a 2006 suzuki gsx-r 750 that has a catylitic converter with a small triangular like muffler coming out of it. i want an aftermarket exhaust for it, but being a hungry college student i'm barely making the payments.so i know this isn't even legal a little bit, but is there a way i can take off the stock muffler and catylitic converter and take all the crap out of it and put it back on so it's freer flowing? if so how would i go about it? would it mess up my engine and fuel ignition and such if i do that? and just for kicks what would you think the fine would be if i got caught? thanks!
