Not sure about the SLX but I have a 2003 Spirit 750. I got off a full dress goldwing because my family stoped riding with me and wanted a bike for around town and it has fit the bill great and it is a great looking bike too, however at highway speeds it tends to have high RPMs and you can feel the road, I would not take it on a long trip.
