I've heard that people will see a white helmet before another color. Do ya'll think any truth to that? Or of a bright color being better seen by a driver?
Thanks for the input

Concerning color personally study after study have shown that colors make the difference.

I am a new driver and knew I was going to get my bike, licence and start diving quickly and with high mileage driving. Did not have time to attend the Motorcycle course at the time. That said I needed something to protect me in the mean time due to the inexperience. As I did with my vehicles chose a bright color. My new bike has a red helmet and red bike. Was a little concerned how red would look for a male on a motrcycle since many are black. Black bikes look sharp. A fellow lady biker looked at my bike one day and gave me some good feedback. That was good enough for me.

Stick with the identifiable colors but that is just my opinion.

What if they're color blind? Some people would run into you if you had a glowing neon monkey dancing on top of your helmet...

I like white and it is seen three times as far away as black, day or night. Yellow or bright colors like emergency vehicles use are good too but I rather wear white and light colors.
I'm not into gear really other than helmets but light colors on clothing and no rubber soled shoes or boots, as they will kill you if you go down. I can live through a slide but to flip and bash my face in, is another thing.

If someone can't see a dancing monkey on top of my helmet, I don't care what color...they need to turn in their keys laugh

I went with a silver helmet, its bright and also more reflective at night. Also, darker colors suck in the heat. My jacket (which I always wear if leaving the neighboorhood) is black and yellow with semi-reflective silver trim. I think it makes me easier to see, although I look more like I should be on a sport bike than my cruiser, but I really couldn't care less (and I am not wearing my leather gear in the summer)

But it has been shown that brighter colors attract the eye and therefore you will be more visible, granted people will probably see you and still pull out infront of you, but, thats life I guess.

Lighter colors make you more visible at night if someone is paying attention. Brighter headlights (daylight strobes optional) and other movement are far more effective at capturing attention than colors alone.

But a well-accessorized rider is ALWAYS stylish.
