Should I sell my bike?

So here's my dilemma.....all along I have planned to sell this bike either at the end of this year or at the beginning of next. If I sell it this fall I can use the money for my last semester of school or to pay off a credit card.

If I wait until next year it could become a bit of a schmoozle because I don't know where I'll be living at that time. I will probably be in the States somewhere but the bike will still be here. And I won't be able to get another bike until this one is sold. So I'll have to get my father to sell it for me early next season.

I guess I'm just sort of brainstorming here. If I keep it for the winter I'll still have the insurance payments and will be unable to pay down some debt. If I sell the bike I can pay down my debt and pay less in insurance.

If you were me....what would you do?

I'd sell it while there is still a market this season (before the end of the summer/fall). Pay off the debt that concerns you...get your work/residency situation settled...then next riding season, buy the new RR that you have your eye on...preferably from a dealer in KS. :crackup

seems to me that you have your mind made up already....go with what you feel is the best thing for you to do.

I actually don't have my mind made up. I am VERY attached to my bike and love it more than anything else. The thought of selling it sickens me but I know it is the sensible thing to do. If I had my mind made up I wouldn't even post about it. I just hate the niggling feeling that it would be the best decision for me right now. :(

Sell it, get your debt paid down. Then when the time is right, get that new machine. More than likely that will make forget about how much you like the F3. Nothing like new bike smell..

selling it anytime after august really hurts the resale. Either sell it soon, or hold it to the spring(although this will cost you more in insurance).

What are you coming to Ottawa for?(bringing the VW or the Honda?)

VW is coming to Ottawa with me. I'm a bridesmaid in my best friend's wedding so I'm coming to discuss wedding stuff and pour over wedding magazines. What fun! :laughing

I think it's going to go in August (if it goes) because I won't have time to sell it in September.
