I have done lots of work on my 74CB 550, they share a lot of parts. PM me if you are looking for something specific. Can you post any pics of your project in it's current status?

Thanks for the reply,

actually the 400 is in pretty good shape and it's my daily driver right now. I am just triing to find a few connections so when i do need something I don't have to spend time looking for solid info.

you may know this, is there such thing as a master link for a cam chain?

I would say definitely not, unless some previous owner had put one in. A master link always includes the possibly of the Plate Retaining Clip on the Master Link coming off and the chain ends separating. Annoying enough when it happens to the Final Drive Chain, but on a Cam Chain it would surely be disastrous!

Footnote: Actually did own a CB400F (SOHC Four) at one time, I’m thinking a 1975? Nice little scoot. Was trying to teach a lady how to ride at the time. She wasn’t hurt at least, but I crashed and burned (i.e., Failed!). Ah well….

OldBikeBarn.com has a lot of parts for vintage bikes, have you check there?

hmmm.... i seem to have already said this... but go HERE http://www.progressivesuspension.com/ and buy them. They are the best in the industry. They have springs to fit EVERY bike/fork setup and can even recommend alternative load springs if you want a different ride. They are a great company to work with. There is NOONE else selling this stuff NOS for these types of older bikes. So, suffice it to say, you are going to have to break down and pony up the cashola to buy one heck of a great set of springs.

Is that clear enough?
