The engine was a [[air cooled]] Air-cooled, DOHC, parallel twin, 270º firing interval, 4-stroke. A 86.4mm [[bore]] x 86.4mm [[stroke]] result in a [[displacement]] of just 790.0 cubic centimeters. Fuel was supplied via a double overhead cams/twin [[cam]] (dohc).

The bike has a Gears transmission. Power was moderated via the Wet multi-disc, manual.

It came with a 110/80 R18 front [[tire]] and a 170/80 R15 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via Single 310mm disc 2 piston caliper in the front and a Single 285mm disc 2 piston caliper in the rear. The front suspension was a  41 mm forks while the rear was equipped with a Chrome spring twin shocks with adjustable preload. The 2001 Bonneville America is Triumph's gift to those who loved the retro, classic British styling of the Bonnie, but were not willing to part with the iconic American cruiser design. So the Bonneville America brought in the equation a low-swung line, with a laid-back riding position and forward foot controls to match the ample pulled-back bars.

Straight, long, bullet-type exhausts evoke the American DNA, while the 790cc parallel twin mill delivers all the Brit character one could wish for. Add in instrumentation separated between a chromed yoke-mounted gauge and a tank-mounted rev counter and warning lights, and you'r in for one stylish ride.
