The Sunbeam S8500 was a twin, four-stroke standard produced by Sunbeam between 1949 and 1956. It could reach a top speed of 75 mph (120 km/h). Claimed horsepower was 23.47 HP (17.5 KW) @ 6000 RPM.

Engine

The engine was a oil & air cooled twin, four-stroke. A 70.0mm bore x 63.5mm stroke result in a displacement of just 487.0 cubic centimeters. Fuel was supplied via a single overhead cams (sohc).

Drive

Power was moderated via the dry singleplate.

Chassis

It came with a 4.50-16 front tire and a 4.50-16 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via expanding brake (drum brake) in the front and a expanding brake (drum brake) in the rear. The front suspension was a telescopic while the rear was equipped with a plungers. The bike weighed just 412.26 pounds (187.0 Kg). The wheelbase was 55.12 inches (1400 mm) long.
