The engine was a Air cooled cooled Four stroke, single cylinder, OHV, pushrod. The engine featured a 8:1 compression ratio.
Chassis[edit | edit source]
It came with a 2.50 - 17 front tire and a 2.75 - 17 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via Drum in the front and a Drum in the rear. The front suspension was a Telescopic fork. while the rear was equipped with a Non-adjustable twin hydraulic shocks, swingarm. The 98T / 98TL was fitted with a 14 L / 3.7 US gal / 3.1 Imp gal fuel tank. The bike weighed just 80 kg / 176 lbs. The wheelbase was 1245 mm / 49.0 in long.

Ducati 98T / 98TL
Some of the variations on the 98 which were also launched in 1953
are the 98T - Tourismo and the 98TL - Tourismo Lusso.
There were monor differences in terms of light alloy wheel rims
(98TL), thigher handlebars, different tanks and two-piece saddles.
The TL also received a protective crash bar.
