The engine was a Air/oil cooled cooled Four stroke, two cylinder horizontally opposed Boxer, 4 valves per cylinder. The engine featured a 10.3:1 compression ratio.
Chassis[edit | edit source]
It came with a 120/70-17 front tire and a 190/50-17 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via 2 x 304 mm Discs, 4-piston calipers in the front and a Single 276 mm disc, 2-piston caliper in the rear. The front suspension was a Light. Telelever with central spring strut. Progressive coil spring. Twin-tube gas-filled shock while the rear was equipped with a Patented BMW Paralever swing arm & shaft drive, single shock with variable rebound damping. The R1150GS was fitted with a 22.1 Liters / 5.8 US gal fuel tank.
