For a short time, Harley-Davidson sold bicycles bearing its own badge, intending to cash in on the booming market for cycles and the brand's own rapidly growing status. According to the advertisements, it was 'the bike red-blooded fellows choose', and 'America's finest bicycle'. The idea was that red-blooded fellows would go on to buy Harley-Davidson motorcycles when the time was right, but the idea did not survive the tough times of 1920-21 and Harley withdrew from the bicycle business.
