A Trials motorcycle is a motorcycle specifically designed for motorcycle trials. Moreover, the motorcycle is designed for balance, extremely low speeds, climbing ability, ability to get over obstacles as part of the course.

Motorcycle characteristics[edit | edit source]

  • Small seat since the rider sits seldom during competition
  • High ground clearance for transversing over logs, rocks, and berms
  • Light frame for maneuverability
  • Long front fork travel
  • Heavy duty rear suspension
  • Small fuel tank to eliminate weight
  • Large rear sprocket for low speed torque
  • No lighting or other road equipment
