I own an '88' XR250R and just finished restoring it. I personally rebuilt the entire top end boring it out to the highest overbore. I stripped it down to the frame and sandblasted it and powder coated it black. I also sand blasted and re painted the exauhst with black heat proof paint. I bought all new maier flash red plastic and painted the inside of the side covers with fusion black spray paint. I painted the engine covers the same gold color. I started rebuilding in september of '06' and just finished on Easter weekend of '07'. it runs and sounds so good. I love having my bike back. If you get a chance to buy one, they're a great bike and will run forever. they are so dependable.
