The Yamaha RZ 350RR was a Two stroke, parallel twin cylinder, YPVS Naked motorcycle produced by Yamaha in 1984. Max torque was 30.24 ft/lbs (41.0 Nm) @ 9400 RPM. Claimed horsepower was 54.18 HP (40.4 KW) @ 9000 RPM.

Engine

A 63.5mm bore x 63.5mm stroke result in a displacement of just 347.0 cubic centimeters.

Drive

The bike has a 6-Speed transmission. Power was moderated via the Wet, multiplate.

Chassis

It came with a 90/90-18 51H front tire and a 110/80-18 58H rear tire. Stopping was achieved via Double discs 260 mm in the front and a Single disc 260 mm in the rear. The front suspension was a Telescopic forks air assistance and variable damping while the rear was equipped with a Rising rate Monocross 5-way preload. The wheelbase was 54.49 inches (1384 mm) long.

On a two-stroke engine, the height of the ports, especially the exhaust ports, determines the engine's basic state of tune. Raise the ports and the engine is tuned for more power at high rpm, at the expense of low-rpm power. Lower the tops of the ports and the opposite occurs. What Yamaha has devised for the RZ 350RR is the Yamaha Power Valve System (YPVS), which is an electronically controlled, variable-height exhaust port in each cylinder.
