The Honda VF400F was a v4, four-stroke Sport touring motorcycle produced by Honda between 1983 and 1987. It could reach a top speed of 107 mph (172 km/h). Max torque was 25.82 ft/lbs (35.0 Nm) @ 10500 RPM. Claimed horsepower was 53.77 HP (40.1 KW) @ 11500 RPM.
Engine[edit | edit source]
The engine was a liquid cooled v4, four-stroke. A 55.0mm bore x 42.0mm stroke result in a displacement of just 399.0 cubic centimeters. Fuel was supplied via a double overhead cams/twin cam (dohc).
Drive[edit | edit source]
The bike has a 6-speed transmission. Power was moderated via the wet plate.
Chassis[edit | edit source]
It came with a 100/90-16h front tire and a 110/90-18h rear tire. Stopping was achieved via single disc. inboard ventilated cast iron disk, 2-piston calipers in the front and a single disc. inboard ventilated cast iron disk, 2-piston calipers in the rear. The front suspension was a showa 35mm, with 4-position anti dive and adjustable air charge while the rear was equipped with a honda pro-link monoshock, with adjustable air charge. The VF400F was fitted with a 4.49 Gallon (17.00 Liters) fuel tank. The bike weighed just 385.81 pounds (175.0 Kg). The wheelbase was 55.71 inches (1415 mm) long.
1983 Honda VF 400 F[edit | edit source]
Manufactured for only one year, the VF 400F had a liquid cooled, 399cc engine with a 55x42mm bore and stroke and 55.5 horsepower at 12500rpm.
