The bike has a CVT transmission. Power was moderated via the dry, centrifugal, automatic.
Chassis[edit | edit source]
It came with a 120 / 70 - 12in front tire and a 140 / 70 - 14in rear tire. Stopping was achieved via dual 240 mm discs, 2-piston calipers in the front and a single 280 mm disc, 2-piston floating caliper in the rear. The front suspension was a parallelogram composed of four aluminum arms supporting two steering tubes, cantilevered suspension while the rear was equipped with a oscillating engine fixed to frame with swingarm and two dual effect hydraulic shock absorbers with four-position spring preload. The 2012 MY Piaggio MP3 Touring 500 I.E. Business has been designed for those riders who want a higher level of comfort on their machine. It comes standard with features such as a brown saddle and matching trim for the passenger grab handle, a chromed exhaust heat shield, as well as a pillion backrest and a wide windscreen. At its heart lies a liquid-cooled, four-stroke, 493cc, single cylinder Master engine mated to a continuously variable transmission (CVT), and can produce 40 horsepower and 46 Nm of torque.
In the aesthetics department, it features four color schemes, Perla White, Perseo Bronze, Orione Grey or Cosmo Black. The latter comes with a matching black saddle.
