The engine was a liquid cooled in-line four, four-stroke. A 73.7mm bore x 43.2mm stroke result in a displacement of just 748.9 cubic centimeters. The engine featured a 13.0:1 compression ratio. Fuel was supplied via a double overhead cams/twin cam (dohc).

The bike has a 6-speed transmission. The final drive was via chain. Power was moderated via the wet, multi - disc.
Chassis[edit | edit source]
It came with a 120/65-zr17 front tire and a 190/50-zr17 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via double disc in the front and a single disc in the rear. The front suspension was a upside-down telescopic hydraulic fork with rebound-compression damping and spring preload adjustment while the rear was equiped with a progressive single shock absorber with rebound compression damping and spring preload. The F4 Ago was fitted with a 5.55 Gallon (21.00 Liters) fuel tank. The bike weighed just 421.08 pounds (191.0 Kg). The wheelbase was 55.04 inches (1398 mm) long.

2001 MV Agusta F4 SPR[edit | edit source]
The 2001 MY MV Agusta F4 SPR is based on the F4 S, in terms of styling and bodywork, but has been revised internally, to achieve much better track times, and a more gritty performance out of this awesome machine. The pistons on this machine are lighter and stronger, which make for a higher rev limit, and boost its performance to 140 horsepower.
In addition, a Weber-Marelli fuel injection has been adapted for this higher rev limit, and makes for a smoother throttle response. Many parts that compose the chassis, including the front mudguard and the chain guards have been replaced with carbon-fiber ones, which lower its dry weight with 4 kg, as opposed to its F4 S sibling.
2001 MV Agusta F4 Senna[edit | edit source]
The 2001 MY MV Agusta F4 Senna is a limited edition of only 300 machines, and all the proceeds resulting from its sales go directly to the Senna Foundation, which helps disadvantaged children all around the world. It is based on its F4 sibling, but with a revised engine, which has a larger rev count and produces a whopping, 146 horsepower.
In addition, its visuals are also revised, with a special, black and red color scheme, and all models comes with a silver numbered plaque. Other improvements, as opposed to its siblings, would be the carbon-fiber parts found in the chassis, which lead to a dry weight of only 188 kg.

The 2002 MY MV Agusta F4 SPR is arguably the most powerful production sportbike from the Italian brand up to date. It sports a liquid-cooled, four-stroke, in-line four cylinder engine that can produce 146 horsepower and 81 Nm of torque, thanks to stronger pistons and a lighter crankshaft which increase its rev limit to 13000 rpm. Also, a Weber-Marelli fuel injection system on this machine has been adapted for higher revs, thus improving throttle response.
It comes in an aggressive black paint-scheme, which is lightened with white decals that further improve the desirability of this machine. In addition, many chassis parts, including the front mudguard and the chain guards are made out of carbon fiber, which not only make for a lighter machine, but improve its performance on or off the race track.

Based on the F4 SPR, this limited edition machine has been created in honor of the F1 racing driver Ayrton Senna, who was a close friend to Claudio Castiglioni, MV Agusta's president. All proceeds that come from selling this machine go to the Senna Foundation, which helps disadvantaged children all around the world.
As its SPR sibling, it has many chassis parts made out of carbon fiber, which make for a lighter machine, and improve its overall performance. In addition, the engine has been revised, and now has a higher rev limit, which increases its power output to 140 horsepower. The paint scheme is also unique to this particular machine, and add to its overall desirability.
2002 MV Agusta F4 Brutale S[edit | edit source]
The 2002 MY MV Agusta F4 Brutale S is the most radical-looking machine produced by the Italian engineers up to date, hence the name. It is based on the chassis and engine found on the F4 superbike family, but with minor tweaks to make it a bit more aggressive. Its appearance is dominated by the hunched profile of its fuel tank and the large headlamp.
It is basically a more affordable version of the exclusive Serie Oro, having been built with more affordable materials and with its parts adapted more for mass production.

The F4 750 Serie Oro was the first F4 model, released in 1997. During one year of production, only 300 units were produced. The production of the F4 750S began in 1999 and had the same features of its sister, the F4 750 Oro, but with a lot of aluminum instead of magnesium.
