Engine[edit | edit source]
The engine was a liquid cooled in-line four, four-stroke. A 73.4mm bore x 59.0mm stroke result in a displacement of just 999.0 cubic centimeters. Fuel was supplied via a double overhead cams/twin cam (dohc).
Drive[edit | edit source]
The bike has a 6-speed transmission. Power was moderated via the rack and pinion clutch.
Chassis[edit | edit source]
It came with a 120/70-zr17 front tire and a 190/50-zr17 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via double disc in the front and a single disc in the rear. The front suspension was a inverted telescopic, coil spring, oil damped while the rear was equipped with a link type, coil spring, oil damped. The GSX-S1000FT was fitted with a 4.49 Gallon (17.00 Liters) fuel tank. The wheelbase was 57.48 inches (1460 mm) long.
