The KTM 990 Duke was a Liquid cooling, four stroke, V-twin cylinder, DOHC, 4 valves per cylinder Naked motorcycle produced by KTM in 2004. Max torque was 73.76 ft/lbs (100.0 Nm) @ 7000 RPM. Claimed horsepower was 122.03 HP (91.0 KW) @ 9000 RPM.

A 101.6mm bore x 101.6mm stroke result in a displacement of just 999.0 cubic centimeters.
Drive[edit | edit source]
The bike has a 67:35 transmission. Power was moderated via the Wet multidisc clutch, operated hydraulically.
Chassis[edit | edit source]
It came with a 120/70 ZR 17 front tire and a 180/55 ZR 17 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via 2x320 mm disc in the front and a 240 mm disc in the rear. The front suspension was a WP-USD 48 mm while the rear was equipped with a WP monoshock. The 990 Duke was fitted with a 1.06 Gallon (4.00 Liters) fuel tank. The wheelbase was 56.61 inches (1438 mm) long.
2004 KTM 990 Duke[edit | edit source]
The 990 Duke has a liquid cooled, four stroke, V twin cylinder engine with a displacement of 999 cc. An uncompromising motorcycle for the streets with minimalist equipment, stronger than the common Naked Bike Twins, ultra light and with a more aggressive, more independent appearance. The 990 DUKE for street use with the 75 fuel injection-V twincylinder LC8 engine. Planned series debut autumn 2004.
