The Aermacchi Chimera 175 was a single cylinder, four-stroke Classic motorcycle produced by Aermacchi between 1956 and 1965. It could reach a top speed of 68 mph (110 km/h). Claimed horsepower was 13.41 HP (10.0 KW) @ 6500 RPM.
Engine[edit | edit source]
The engine was a air cooled single cylinder, four-stroke. A 60.0mm bore x 61.0mm stroke result in a displacement of just 172.0 cubic centimeters.
Drive[edit | edit source]
The bike has a 4-speed transmission. Power was moderated via the wet multiplate.
Chassis[edit | edit source]
It came with a 2.50-17 front tire and a 2.50-17 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via expanding brake (drum brake) in the front and a expanding brake (drum brake) in the rear. The front suspension was a telescopic while the rear was equipped with a Telescopic. The bike weighed just 268.96 pounds (122.0 Kg). The wheelbase was 53.54 inches (1360 mm) long.
1956 - 1961 Aermacchi Chimera 175[edit | edit source]
The Chimera was manufactured from 1956 to 1961, only 119 units being released on the streets.
1958 - 1962 Aermacchi Chimera 250[edit | edit source]
The new Chimera had the same characteristics as the 175cc version, except for the engine displacement, the power, the gearbox and the maximum speed of more than 110 km/h.
