The Aermacchi Chimera 175 was a single cylinder, four-stroke Classic motorcycle produced by Aermacchi between 1956 and 1965. It could reach a top speed of 68 mph (110 km/h). Claimed horsepower was 13.41 HP (10.0 KW) @ 6500 RPM.

The engine was a air cooled single cylinder, four-stroke. A 60.0mm bore x 61.0mm stroke result in a displacement of just 172.0 cubic centimeters.
Drive[edit | edit source]
The bike has a 4-speed transmission. Power was moderated via the wet multiplate.
Chassis[edit | edit source]
It came with a 2.50-17 front tire and a 2.50-17 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via expanding brake (drum brake) in the front and a expanding brake (drum brake) in the rear. The front suspension was a telescopic while the rear was equipped with a Telescopic. The bike weighed just 268.96 pounds (122.0 Kg). The wheelbase was 53.54 inches (1360 mm) long.

The Chimera was manufactured from 1956 to 1961, only 119 units being released on the streets.
1958 - 1962 Aermacchi Chimera 250[edit | edit source]
The new Chimera had the same characteristics as the 175cc version, except for the engine displacement, the power, the gearbox and the maximum speed of more than 110 km/h.
