The Aprilia Tuono 1000 Racing was a liquid-cooled, four-stroke, V-Twin Naked motorcycle produced by Aprilia in 2003. Max torque was 73.76 ft/lbs (100.0 Nm) @ 7250 RPM. Claimed horsepower was 126.06 HP (94.0 KW) @ 9500 RPM.
Engine[edit | edit source]
A 96.5mm bore x 96.5mm stroke result in a displacement of just 998.0 cubic centimeters.
Drive[edit | edit source]
The bike has a 6-speed, manual transmission. Power was moderated via the wet multi-disc, manual.
Chassis[edit | edit source]
It came with a 120/70-17 front tire and a 190/50-17 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via dual 320mm discs, 4-piston caliper in the front and a single 220mm disc, 2-piston caliper in the rear. The front suspension was a upside-down fork while the rear was equipped with a adjustable monoshock. The wheelbase was 55.71 inches (1415 mm) long.
2003 Aprilia Tuono 1000 Racing[edit | edit source]
The 2003 MY Aprilia Tuono 1000 Racing addresses adrenaline-junkies who want a naked machine capable both of leisure riding and a track Sunday, without having to add special features. At its heart lies a liquid-cooled, four-stroke, 998cc, V-Twin powerplant mated to a six-speed manual transmission and can produce a claimed 130 horsepower and 101 Nm of torque.
An Ohlins Racing suspension package, composed of an upside-down telescopic fork in the front and an adjustable mono-shock with Aprilia Progressive System (APS) in the rear, plus a Brembo Gold Series braking system with dual front discs ensure this machine can tackle any race track with ease.
