The Ariel Arrow 200 was a twin, two-stroke Classic motorcycle produced by Ariel between 1959 and 1967. It could reach a top speed of 82 mph (132 km/h). Claimed horsepower was 19.98 HP (14.9 KW) @ 6500 RPM.
Engine[edit | edit source]
The engine was a air cooled twin, two-stroke. A 53.3mm bore x 53.3mm stroke result in a displacement of just 198.0 cubic centimeters. Fuel was supplied via a overhead valves (ohv).
Drive[edit | edit source]
The bike has a 4-speed transmission. Power was moderated via the multi-disc, manual.
Chassis[edit | edit source]
It came with a 3.25-16 front tire and a 3.25-16 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via expanding brake (drum brake) in the front and a expanding brake (drum brake) in the rear. The front suspension was a trailing link, oil-damped while the rear was equipped with a swingarm. The Arrow 200 was fitted with a 2.38 Gallon (9.00 Liters) fuel tank. The bike weighed just 330.69 pounds (150.0 Kg). The wheelbase was 50.98 inches (1295 mm) long.
1960 - 1966 Ariel Arrow[edit | edit source]
The 250cc Ariel Leader was produced from 1958 until 1966, while its little brother, the Ariel Arrow, being born in 1960. A smaller 200cc engined version appeared in 1964.
1962 Ariel Arrow Super Sport 250[edit | edit source]
The 1961 Ariel Arrow Super Sport 250 has, at its heart, an air-cooled, two-stroke, 247cc, parallel twin cylinder powerhouse mated to a four-speed manual transmission, and can reach a maximum power output of 20 horsepower at 6500 rpm. In addition, it comes standard with a suspension package composed of a trailing link fork in the front and twin shock absorbers in the rear, a drum braking system, laced wheels with whitewall tires mounted on them, a dual seat and an analogue instrument cluster.
