The engine was a oil & air cooled air-cooled, 4-stroke, boxer twin cylinder. A 101.6mm bore x 101.6mm stroke result in a displacement of just 1170.0 cubic centimeters. Fuel was supplied via a double overhead cams/twin cam (dohc).

The bike has a 6-speed, manual transmission. Power was moderated via the dry, single plate, hydraulic.
ChassisEdit
It came with a 120/70 x 17 front tire and a 180/55 x 17 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via dual 320 mm floating rotors in the front and a single 265 mm fixed rotor in the rear. The front suspension was a Marzocchi WAD UPSD fork 45 mm while the rear was equipped with a Paralever, Ohlins monoshock. The HP2 Megamoto was fitted with a 4.23 Gallon (16.00 Liters) fuel tank. The bike weighed just 394.63 pounds (179.0 Kg). The wheelbase was 63.58 inches (1615 mm) long.
