Engine[edit | edit source]
The engine was a liquid cooled twin, four-stroke. A 102.5mm bore x 76.0mm stroke result in a displacement of just 1254.0 cubic centimeters. Fuel was supplied via a double overhead cams/twin cam (dohc).
Drive[edit | edit source]
The bike has a 6-speed transmission. Power was moderated via the multiplate wet clutch, hydraulically operated.
Chassis[edit | edit source]
It came with a 120/70-zr17 front tire and a 180/55-zr17 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via double disc. abs in the front and a single disc. abs in the rear. The front suspension was a bmw motorrad telelever while the rear was equipped with a bmw motorrad evo paralever. The R1250RT was fitted with a 6.6 Gallon (25.00 Liters) fuel tank. The wheelbase was 58.46 inches (1485 mm) long.
2018 BMW R 1250 RT[edit | edit source]
Revamped in 2018 for the 2019 model year, the BMW R 1250 RT offers even more customization options now. Whether from the get-go or ex-factory, you can now opt for one of the “design-defining” Option 719 billet packs, called Classic, Storm or HP. The Hill Start Assist (HSC) system makes starting on slopes easier and is offered as standard. Minor design features have been updated as well.
