A 73.7mm [[bore]] x 73.7mm [[stroke]] result in a [[displacement]] of just 599.0 cubic centimeters.  

==Drive==
The bike has a 4-speed, manual transmission. Power was moderated via the dry, single plate.  

==Chassis==
It came with a 3.25 - S19 front [[tire]] and a 4.00 - S18 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via 200mm drum in the front and a 200mm drum in the rear. The front suspension was a  telescopic fork while the rear was equipped with a dual shocks.

The 1969 BWM R 60/5 is one of the most successful machines by the House of Munich in the post-war era. It comes with features such as a dual seat, passenger grab rails, a dual exhaust system, a side-stand, laced wheels, a hydraulic telescopic fork, dual shock absorbers as a rear suspension, drum brakes, a large headlight and a large, 24-liter (6.3-gallon) fuel tank.

In the engine department it sports an air-cooled, four-stroke, boxer twin cylinder powerhouse paired to a four-speed manual transmission and can produce a claimed 40 horsepower and 49 Nm of torque.
