Engine

The engine was a liquid cooled twin, four-stroke. A 69.0mm bore x 53.4mm stroke result in a displacement of just 399.3 cubic centimeters. Fuel was supplied via a double overhead cams/twin cam (dohc).

Drive

The bike has a 6-speed transmission. Power was moderated via the wet.

Chassis

It came with a 120/70-zr17 front tire and a 160/60-zr17 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via double disc in the front and a single disc in the rear. The front suspension was a inverted hydraulic damping shock absorber while the rear was equipped with a rear swing arm in steel pipes, rear shock absorber with spring preload adjustmen. The 402 S was fitted with a 4.23 Gallon (16.00 Liters) fuel tank. The bike weighed just 352.74 pounds (160.0 Kg). The wheelbase was 55.31 inches (1405 mm) long.
