Engine[edit | edit source]
A 111.8mm bore x 111.8mm stroke result in a displacement of just 1198.0 cubic centimeters.
Drive[edit | edit source]
The bike has a straight cut gears transmission. Power was moderated via the slipper and self-servo wet multiplate clutch with hydraulic control.

It came with a 120/70 ZR17 front tire and a 200/55 ZR17 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via 2 x 330mm semi-floating discs, radially mounted BremboMonobloc M50 4-piston callipers with 19-21 MCS pump. Bosch 9ME ABS in the front and a 245mm disc, 2-piston calliper in the rear. The front suspension was a Ohlins FL916 43mm with TiN, fully adjustable usd fork while the rear was equipped with a fully adjustable Ohlins TTX36 unit with titanium spring, adjustable linkage: Progressive/flat. 2014 Ducati 1199 Superleggera[edit | edit source]
Limiting its production to only 500 numbered units, the 2014 MY Ducati 1199 Superleggera is probably one of the most exclusive and priciest series Ducati machines ever to be designed, but also one of the most fun. Extensive use of titanium, carbon fiber and magnesium achieves a dry weight of 155 kg. Add to this the 200+ horsepower and 134 Nm produced by its liquid-cooled, 1198cc, Superquadro L-twin cylinder powerplant with four titanium Desmodromic valves per cylinder, and you get one of the best power to weight ratios in any production bike. Visually, the Italian engineers have decided to go with a more conservative, mellow paint scheme that features a side racing stripe and 1199 Superleggera decals. Another feature to be mentioned are the forged and machined magnesium wheels, which add to the unique touch of this exclusive superbike.
