It came with a 120/60 ZR17 front tire and a 180/55 ZR17 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via dual 320mm discs, 4-piston calipers in the front and a single 220mm disc, 1-piston caliper in the rear. The front suspension was a 43mm Showa upside-down fork while the rear was equipped with a Showa adjustable monoshock with progressive linkage. The wheelbase was 55.51 inches (1410 mm) long.

The 2001 MY Ducati 748S has, at its heart, a liquid-cooled, four-stroke, 748cc, 90-degree V-Twin cylinder powerplant mated to a six-speed manual transmission and can reach a maximum power output of 96 horsepower and 75 Nm of torque.
Also, it comes with Marchesini, light alloy, five-spoked wheels, a 43mm Showa upside-down telescopic fork, a Showa adjustable monoshock in the rear, a full-fairing with a small windscreen, Brembo brakes with dual discs in the front and a single disc in the rear, dual headlights, a single seat, an LCD instrumentation display and a steel alloy frame.
