The Ducati 800 Sport was a air-cooled, four-stroke, 90-degree V-Twin, SOHC, desmodromic 2 valves per cylinder Sport Bike motorcycle produced by Ducati in 2003. Max torque was 52.37 ft/lbs (71.0 Nm) @ 6250 RPM. Claimed horsepower was 74.96 HP (55.9 KW) @ 8250 RPM.
Engine[edit | edit source]
The engine was a air cooled air-cooled, four-stroke, 90-degree V-Twin, SOHC, desmodromic 2 valves per cylinder. A 88.9mm bore x 88.9mm stroke result in a displacement of just 803.0 cubic centimeters. Fuel was supplied via a desmodromic valve control.
Drive[edit | edit source]
The bike has a 6-speed, manual transmission.
Chassis[edit | edit source]
It came with a 120/70-17 front tire and a 170/60-17 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via dual 320mm discs, 4-piston calipers in the front and a single 245mm disc, 2-piston caliper in the rear. The front suspension was a 43mm Marzocchi upside-down fork while the rear was equipped with a Sachs fully-adjustable monoshock with progressive cantilever linkage. The 800 Sport was fitted with a 4.23 Gallon (16.00 Liters) fuel tank. The bike weighed just 401.9 pounds (182.3 Kg). The wheelbase was 55.31 inches (1405 mm) long.
2003 Ducati 800 Sport[edit | edit source]
The 2003 MY Ducati 800 Sport has, at its heart, an air-cooled, four-stroke, 803cc, 90-degree V-Twin desmodromic powerhouse paired to a six-speed manual transmission, and can reach a maximum power output of 75 horsepower and 70 Nm of torque.
Also, this machine comes with a 43mm Marzocchi upside-down telescopic fork coupled to a Sachs, fully-adjustable monoshock in the rear, dual front disc brakes with Brembo calipers, a dual seat with a passenger grab handle, blacked-out, cast-aluminum wheels, a black trellis frame and a digital instrumentation display. Also, this machine can be purchases either with a full-fairing, or a half-fairing, both of which include a small windscreen.
