The front suspension was a Ohlins fully-adjustable upside-down fork, TiN-coating while the rear was equipped with a Ohlins adjustable monoshock with progressive cantilever linkage. 2000 Ducati 996SPS

The 2000 MY Ducati 996SPS has replaced the 916SPS, even though, displacement-wise, it is the same machine, the Italian engineers fitting the 916 with an 996cc engine from 1997. It boasts a maximum power output of 124 horsepower and 99 Nm of torque from its liquid-cooled, four-stroke, 996cc, 90-degree V-Twin powerplant that was paired to a six-speed manual transmission with a chain final drive.

Also, it comes with an Ohlins fully-adjustable upside-down fork with TiN-coating, an Ohlins adjustable monoshock with a progressive cantilever linkage as a rear suspension, a full-fairing with a small windscreen, cast-magnesium wheels, a single seat, a digital instrumentation panel, an under-seat dual exhaust system and a Brembo braking system with dual front disc brakes and a single disc in the rear.

The 2001 MY Ducati SPS is one of the most powerful liter-class machines available on the market up to date.
