The Ducati 998S was a liquid-cooled, four-stroke, 90-degree V-Twin, DOHC, desmodromic 4 valves per cylinder Sport Bike motorcycle produced by Ducati in 2003. Max torque was 76.71 ft/lbs (104.0 Nm) @ 8000 RPM. Claimed horsepower was 129.95 HP (96.9 KW) @ 10000 RPM.

A 104.1mm bore x 104.1mm stroke result in a displacement of just 998.0 cubic centimeters.

Drive

The bike has a 6-speed, manual transmission. Power was moderated via the dry, multiplate, hydraulic.

Chassis

It came with a 120/60 ZR17 front tire and a 190/55 ZR17 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via dual 320mm discs, 4-piston calipers in the front and a single 220mm disc, 2-piston caliper in the rear. The front suspension was a 43mm Ohlins upside-down fork, TiN-coating while the rear was equipped with a Ohlins adjustable monoshock with progressive linkage. The wheelbase was 55.51 inches (1410 mm) long.

The 2003 MY Ducati 998S comes with features such as a two-piece, dual seat, a full-fairing with a small windscreen, five-spoked, light alloy wheels, dual headlights, Brembo dual front disc brakes and a single disc in the rear, a digital instrument cluster and a race-grade, Ohlins suspension package, composed of a 43mm, TiN-coated upside-down fork and an adjustable monoshock with progressive linkage in the rear.

In addition, it boasts a maximum power output of 130 horsepower and 105 Nm of torque from its four-stroke, fuel-injected, liquid-cooled, 998cc, 90-degree V-Twin desmodromic powerhouse, that was paired to a six-speed manual transmission with a chain final drive.
