The Ducati Desmosedici RR G8 Special Edition was a liquid-cooled, four-stroke, 90-degree V4 cylinder, DOHC, desmodromic 4 valves per cylinder Sport Bike motorcycle produced by Ducati in 2010. Max torque was 86.3 ft/lbs (117.0 Nm) @ 10500 RPM. Claimed horsepower was 199.95 HP (149.1 KW) @ 13800 RPM.

Engine

A 86.4mm bore x 86.4mm stroke result in a displacement of just 989.0 cubic centimeters.

Drive

The bike has a straight cut gears transmission. Power was moderated via the dry, multiplate, slipper-type, hydraulically actuated.

Chassis

It came with a 120/70 R17 front tire and a 200/55 R16 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via dual 320mm discs, 4-piston calipers in the front and a single 240mm disc, 2-piston calipers in the rear. The front suspension was a 43mm Ohlins upside-down fork, TiN-coated while the rear was equipped with a Ohlins adjustable monoshock. The Desmosedici RR G8 Special Edition was fitted with a 1.06 Gallon (4.00 Liters) fuel tank. The wheelbase was 56.3 inches (1430 mm) long.

2010 Ducati Desmosedici RR G8 Special Edition

     

The 2010 MY Ducati Desmodici RR G8 Special Edition is a one-of-a-kind machine, created for the G8 summit that was held between the 8th and 10th of July, 2009, in L'Aquila, and features a special livery, suggested by Italian prime-minister Silvio Berlusconi, and put on the machine by a team from Ducati and the Fiera Milano design firm. Mechanically, it is identical to the base Desmodici RR, boasting the same race-grade features and technologies.
