Manuals Service Manual

The Gas Gas SM 250 was a liquid-cooled, two-stroke, single cylinder Supermotard motorcycle produced by Gas Gas in 2002. Max torque was 17.7 ft/lbs (24.0 Nm) @ 1000 RPM. Claimed horsepower was 37.01 HP (27.6 KW) @ 1000 RPM.

Engine

A 66.0mm bore x 66.0mm stroke result in a displacement of just 249.0 cubic centimeters.

Drive

The bike has a 6-speed, manual transmission. Power was moderated via the wet multi-disc, manual.

Chassis

It came with a 120/60 -17 front tire and a 150/60 -17 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via single 300mm disc, 4-piston caliper in the front and a single 220mm disc, 1-piston caliper in the rear. The front suspension was a 45mm Marzocchi upside-down telescopic fork while the rear was equipped with a Ohlins monoshock with progressive linkage.

2002 Gas Gas SM 250

The 2002 MY Gas Gas SM 250 has, at its heart, a liquid-cooled, two-stroke, 249cc, single cylinder powerplant that was mated to a six-speed manual transmission with a chain final drive, and can produce a claimed 37 horsepower and 25 Nm of torque.

In addition, it has been fitted with a 45mm Marzocchi upside-down telescopic front fork, an Ohlins monoshock in the rear with a progressive system, a steel frame with an aluminum swingarm, front and rear disc brakes, a digital instrumentation panel, a single seat, an under-seat mounted exhaust system and a race-inspired livery.
