The Gilera Saturno 500 was a single cylinder, four-stroke Sport Bike motorcycle produced by Gilera between 1947 and 1992. It could reach a top speed of 109 mph (176 km/h). Max torque was 33.93 ft/lbs (46.0 Nm) @ 6000 RPM. Claimed horsepower was 37.15 HP (27.7 KW) @ 7000 RPM.
Engine[edit | edit source]
The engine was a liquid cooled single cylinder, four-stroke. A 92.0mm bore x 74.0mm stroke result in a displacement of just 492.0 cubic centimeters. Fuel was supplied via a double overhead cams/twin cam (dohc).
Drive[edit | edit source]
The bike has a 5-speed transmission.
Chassis[edit | edit source]
It came with a 110/17-17 front tire and a 140/70-17 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via single disc in the front and a single disc in the rear. The front suspension was a 40mm Marzocchi telescopic fork while the rear was equipped with a Marzocchi adjustable monoshock. The Saturno 500 was fitted with a 5.28 Gallon (20.00 Liters) fuel tank. The bike weighed just 275.58 pounds (125.0 Kg). The wheelbase was 55.12 inches (1400 mm) long.
