The engine was a liquid cooled in-line four, four-stroke. A 67.0mm bore x 46.0mm stroke result in a displacement of just 649.0 cubic centimeters. Fuel was supplied via a double overhead cams/twin cam (dohc).

It came with a 120/70-zr17 front tire and a 180/55-zr17 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via double disc. two-piston calipers. in the front and a single disc. single-piston caliper. in the rear. The front suspension was a 41mm fork while the rear was equipped with a single shock with spring-preload adjustability. The CBR650R was fitted with a 4.1 Gallon (15.52 Liters) fuel tank. The wheelbase was 57.09 inches (1450 mm) long.
2014 Honda CBR650FEdit
Built with the RR performance in mind, the 2013 CBR650F ABS comes with the adrenalin rush-factor Honda supersport machines are well-known for, but brings practicality and comfort to the game, as well. Just like the base CBR650F, this machine relies on a new steel chassis with revised weight distribution, mated to a direct-mount shock aluminum swingarm.
Nimble and suitable for both daily commuting and weekend getaways, the 2013 CBR650F ABS also comes with exceptional control thanks to the anti-locking brakes with 320mm front wave rotors and the 220 rear one. Halfway between the fully-faired and naked machines, this bike is the new middleweight commuter.
2017 Honda CBR650FEdit
Honda has unveiled its new, facelifted 2017 CBR650F at the ongoing 2016 EICMA show. For the new model, the power has increased to 90 hp (67 Kw) @ 11,000 rpm, up by 4 hp over the previous version. The torque is up, marginally, too rated at 64 Nm (47 lb-ft) @ 8000 rpm.
