The XL600R'83 was sold in 1983 in one color: Monza Red. The gas tank, side covers, fenders, headlight cowl, and frame were red. The seat, fork boots, number plate panels, and engine were black. The wheels, fork legs, and swingarm were silver. The "600R" side cover decal was solid white. The engine was a 589cc OHC RFVC single cylinder with two carburetors and two head pipes. The transmission was a 5-speed. The serial number began JH2PD030*DM000027

1984 Honda XL600R in Monza Red

The XL600R'84 was sold in 1984 in one color: Monza Red (in some countries it was called Flash Red).

The "600R" side cover decal was red with a white outline.
The gas tank, side covers, fenders, headlight cowl, and frame were red.
The seat, fork boots, number plate panels, and engine were black.
The wheels, fork legs, and swingarm were silver.

The XL600R'87 was sold in 1987 in Shasta White with Southern Blue. The gas tank was 3-tone: blue, red, and white. The red stripe was actually 3-tone dark, medium, and light red. The wheels, fork legs, and swingarm were silver. The fenders, side covers, frame, and headlight cowl were white. The engine was red. The number plate panels were black. The engine was a 589cc OHC RFVC single cylinder with two carburetors and two head pipes. The transmission was a 5-speed. The serial number began JH2PD030*HK400001

Engine

The engine was a liquid cooled v2, four-stroke. A 75.0mm bore x 66.0mm stroke result in a displacement of just 583.0 cubic centimeters. Fuel was supplied via a overhead cams (ohc).

Drive

The bike has a 5-speed transmission.

Chassis

It came with a 90/90-21 front tire and a 130/80-17 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via dual disc in the front and a single disc in the rear. The XL600 RM is a Honda motorcycle equipped with an air cooled, single cylinder, four stroke, 591cc engine developing 44 horsepower at 6500rpm. Thanks to its engine, the bike is able to reach a top speed 142 km/h.
