Stopping was achieved via double disc. dual-piston combined three-piston callipers, abs and sintered metal pads in the front and a single disc. combined single-piston calliper, abs and resin mould pads in the rear. The front suspension was a 41 mm leading-axle telescopic fork,177 mm axle travel while the rear was equipped with a pro-link with adjustable compression damping, 173 mm axle travel. The XL700V Transalp was fitted with a 4.62 Gallon (17.50 Liters) fuel tank. The bike weighed just 480.61 pounds (218.0 Kg). The wheelbase was 59.65 inches (1515 mm) long.
