The engine was a air cooled single cylinder, two-stroke. A 41.0mm bore x 37.4mm stroke result in a displacement of just 49.0 cubic centimeters. Fuel was supplied via a overhead cams (ohc).

It came with a 120/90-10 front tire and a 130/90-10 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via single disc in the front and a expanding brake (drum brake) in the rear. The 2009 MY Hyosung SB50 Super Cab has, at its heart, an air-cooled, two-stroke, 49cc, single cylinder lump paired to a continuously variable transmission (CVT) and can produce 5 horsepower and 4 Nm of torque. It comes standard with an under-seat storage compartment, lightweight, cast-aluminum wheels, a dual seat, a rear luggage rack, and a fluorescent yellow paint scheme, reminiscent of its name.
