The 1956 IZH 56 is the predecessor of the acclaimed Planeta two-wheeler, and has, at its heart, an air-cooled, two-stroke, 346cc, single cylinder engine paired to a four-speed manual transmission, and can produce 10 horsepower and 13 Nm of torque. This Soviet motorcycle had full fenders, a dual seat, laced wheels, a 14-liter fuel tank and could reach a claimed top speed of 100 kph. In addition, this motorcycle could be purchased with an easy-to-detach sidecar.
