Engine[edit | edit source]
The engine was a liquid cooled single cylinder, four-stroke. A 72.0mm bore x 61.1mm stroke result in a displacement of just 248.8 cubic centimeters. Fuel was supplied via a double overhead cams/twin cam (dohc).
Drive[edit | edit source]
The bike has a 6-speed transmission. Power was moderated via the slip-and-assist clutch.
Chassis[edit | edit source]
It came with a 110/70-zr17 front tire and a 150/60-zr17 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via double disc in the front and a single disc in the rear. The front suspension was a wp upside-down ø 43 mm while the rear was equipped with a wp monoshock. The RC250 was fitted with a 2.64 Gallon (10.00 Liters) fuel tank. The bike weighed just 324.08 pounds (147.0 Kg). The wheelbase was 52.76 inches (1340 mm) long.
2016 KTM RC 250[edit | edit source]
The state-of-the-art, liquid cooled, single-cylinder, four-stroke 249ccm engine with twin overhead camshafts, four valves and electronic fuel injection, provides outstanding power and thanks to the balancer shaft, delivers the highest level of smoothness. Because of the KTM-typical compact design with stacked transmission shafts the engine has an unbelievable low weight of 36kg. Combine that with technical details like forced feed lubrication with power-promoting body-evacuation and you get an engine which provides a remarkable 31 hp. The engine is equipped with an electric starter powered by a 12V/8Ah battery.
