Overview[edit | edit source]
The off-road motorcycle KLX300R is the equivalent of Kawasaki´s "old guy" KDX200. It features a KDX-style chassis for precise handling, great suspension, comfortable ergonomics for all-day trail rides and its four-stroke engine provides a smooth powerband for traction on the most difficult trails.
Engine[edit | edit source]
The engine was a liquid cooled single cylinder, four-stroke. A 78.0mm bore x 61.2mm stroke result in a displacement of just 292.0 cubic centimeters. Fuel was supplied via a double overhead cams/twin cam (dohc).
Drive[edit | edit source]
The bike has a 6-speed transmission.
Chassis[edit | edit source]
It came with a 80/70-x21 front tire and a 100/90-x18 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via single disc in the front and a single disc in the rear. The front suspension was a 43mm inverted cartridge fork with 20-way compression damping / 11.2 in. while the rear was equipped with a uni-trak® single shock system with 20-way compression damping and 18-way rebound damping / 11.0 in.. The KLX300R was fitted with a 2.6 Gallon (9.84 Liters) fuel tank. The bike weighed just 233.69 pounds (106.0 Kg). The wheelbase was 56.5 inches (1435 mm) long.
