The Kawasaki ZZR1400 was a in-line four, four-stroke Sport touring motorcycle produced by Kawasaki between 2006 and 2019. Max torque was 116.69 ft/lbs (158.2 Nm) @ 7500 RPM. Claimed horsepower was 195.79 HP (146.0 KW) @ 10000 RPM.

Engine[edit | edit source]

The engine was a liquid cooled in-line four, four-stroke. A 84.0mm bore x 65.0mm stroke result in a displacement of just 1441.0 cubic centimeters. Fuel was supplied via a double overhead cams/twin cam (dohc).

The bike has a 6-speed transmission. Power was moderated via the wet multi-disc, manual.

Chassis[edit | edit source]

It came with a 120/70-zr17 front tire and a 190/50-zr17 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via double disc. dual radial-mount, opposed 4-piston, 4-pad. in the front and a single disc. opposed, twin-piston caliper. in the rear. The front suspension was a 43 mm inverted fork with top-out springs compression damping: 18-way rebound damping: 15-way spring preload: fully adjustable. while the rear was equipped with a bottom-link uni-trak, öhlins ttx39 rear shock with piggyback reservoir and remote preload adjuster compression damping: 22-way rebound damping: 22-way spring preload: fully adjustable. The ZZR1400 was fitted with a 5.81 Gallon (22.00 Liters) fuel tank. The bike weighed just 575.41 pounds (261.0 Kg). The wheelbase was 58.27 inches (1480 mm) long.

2005 is the firs year for the ZZR1400 sport-touring machine. The former ZZR1200 is now powered by a bigger, brawnier, 190 PS 1352cc 4-in-line engine, delivering up to 200 PS with the RAM Air system at full potential.

The bike receives the iconic sidepanel grooves which will make it an unmistakeable presence around the planet. Everything is new about the 2005 Kawasaki ZZR1400: suspension, smooth hydraulic clutch, and the upgraded ergonomics and aerodynamics, made possible by the redesigned monocoque aluminum frame.

The new Kawasaki ZZR1400also sports an all-new dashboard with more comprehensive instrumentation,s till with dual analog gauges for rpm and speed and a larger LCD screen for other critical riding data.

For 2006, the Kawasaki ZZR1400 comes with optional ABS brakes, a redesigned instrument cluster and better ergonomics an aerodynamics.

The 1352cc engine is now mounted inside a monocoque aluminum frame, but it is not a beats easy to tame: it produces 190 PS @ 9500 rpm, and this amount can go up to 200 PS with the RAM Air forced air intake system working at full potential.

The clutch is now smoother thanks to the revised hydraulic system and the suspension is also adjustable for various road surfaces and conditions.

Just as its very name suggests it, the 2007 Kawasaki ZZR1400 ABS comes loaded with anti-lock braking system for a more confident stopping force in less distance. The displacement of the 4-in-line engine has been kept to 1352cc but thanks to the new tweaks it now produces 193 PS @ 9500 rpm, and can reach 203 PS with the RAM Air forced air intake system working at full potential.

The monocoque aluminum frame has also been tweaked a bit, for a more comfortable position which does not require the rider to stretch hands too much to reach the handlebars.The clutch is now smoother thanks to the revised hydraulic system and the suspension is also adjustable for various road surfaces and conditions.

The 2008 Kawasaki ZZR1400 ABS carries on the acclaimed heritage of the previous models. Being a dedicated sport-touring machine, the 2008 ZZR1400 ABS boasts improved ergonomics destined to offer better comfort during long rides.

The tank has been remodeled for a narrower profile, to match that of the new engine. Thanks to the slim monocoque chassis, the rider can now keep the knees closer together for better protection against wind and improved confidence.

The front cowl comes with a low-drag, improved aerodynamics design, housing highly-efficient lights and a new, redesigned instrument panel. Using CAN connectors, more data can now be displayed on the LCD screen, but using less wires.

The 2008 Kawasaki ZZR1400 ABS comes with the same 1352cc 4-in-line engine delivering 193 PS (203 PS with RAM Air).

The ZZR1400 (Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14 in North America) is a hyper sport motorcycle manufactured by Kawasaki Heavy Industries and is currently their most powerful sport bike. It was introduced at the Tokyo 2005 show and released for the 2006 model year as a replacement for the ZX-12R. Its direct competitor in the hyper sport segment is the Suzuki Hayabusa. The ZZR1400 is capable of accelerating from 0–60 mph in 2.5 seconds. The top speed is electronically limited to 186 mph (299 km/h). This limit has been in effect on both Kawasaki and Suzuki sport motorcycles since 2001 when both companies realized that the speed war between them would only serve to bring about government regulation

The 2009 Kawasaki ZZR1400 ABS retains all the nifty touring features of the 2008 model, such as comfortable seat and riding position, narrower profile and LED lighting for greater visibility. At the same time, the advanced-technology ABS system offers dependable stopping force for a more relaxed ride.

In case the stock 2010 ZZR1400 seems not enough, you should check the Performance edition. Boasting the same basic setup like the standard model. The Performance edition comes loaded with Akrapovic high-performance exhaust cans, in either carbon fiber or titanium look. While offering a race-ready performance boost, the Akrapovic silencers are street-legal and will also make your bike look better.

The 2010 ZZR1400 Performance comes with a sporty seat cowl replacing the pillion cushion and enhancing the racing looks. The bike also gets a special-edition, smoked windscreen and self-adhesive gel tank rear pad, complete with two side-pads in carbon fiber-look.

The 193 PS 4-in-line engine can deliver as much as 203 PS with the RAM Air forced air intake system working at full potential, offering a boost in the highway speed-range.

The 2011 Kawasaki ZZR1400 brings a whole lot of new features for the flagship sport-touring lime green machine. First in line comes the bigger engine, now sporting 1441cc displacement, loaded in an all-new frame ending with a redesigned, longer swing arm.

Improved ABS and aerodynamics match the redesigned front cowl and headlights, offering better comfort and niftier looks, while boasting an even more dependable, safer stopping force when needed.

The 2011 ZZR1400 comes with dual retractable hooks for more convenience when it comes to carrying large object attached to the passenger seat. The new bike also comes with new, lighter wheels, a sportier adjustable suspension, and a new, sculpted seat with a slim front to let shorter riders touch the ground more easily.

The 2011 Kawasaki ZZR1400 Performance takes the already awesome stock bike in the realm of racing-prepped vehicles, offering niftier looks and top-notch accessories.

While the engine is still the new, 200 PS unit with 10 PS coming from the RAM Air intake system in full operation, the addition of the street-legal, race track-performance Akrapovic slip-on exhaust line. The Performance series is therefore lighter and sounds better when revved up, while also offering better acceleration thanks to the redesigned exhaust.

The Performance version also offers a passenger seat cowl for a more racing-inspired look and a bubble screen in smoked, scratch-resistant plastic for enhanced aerodynamics and sleeker look.
