MotoCzysz was started by American Michael Czysz with the goal of creating a bike (the C1) capable of competing in MotoGP and eventually translating it into a street version. He has hinted that with the change from 990cc to 800cc in 2007, he will not be undertaking the R&D to pursue MotoGP and is possibly instead focusing on taking the C1 to a form of superbike racing.
